You may have heard that a Royal wedding is due to take place in a couple of weeks but whilst the country gears up for a day of mass celebrations and street parties, it would seem the couple would prefer to party on the low down.
Both Prince William and finance Kate Middleton have held secretive stag and hen dos and with the amount of media likely to hound them if they held a more ‘public’ event we can hardly say we blame them!
So what exactly did the ‘Royal couple to be’ get up to?
When you have a younger brother with a reputation as notorious as Harry’s you need to brace yourself when you ask him to organise your stag do! Luckily for William there were no fancy dress plans and no crawling from one London hot spot to the next either. Instead, Harry opted for a water themed celebration including water skiing and high-speed boats in Devon. However these plans were changed when the details were leaked.
A shame really considering there are some great water sport areas perfect for stag dos in the South West!
Instead, the second in line to the throne is reported to have had a quiet weekend in with the lads at a country house in Norfolk. Surprisingly, The Daily Express reported that the whole weekend was expected not to exceed £2,500.
It would appear that Kate has the same ideas as her future husband when it comes to celebrating: she also opted for a quiet night in with a few of her closest friends at a mate’s house.
The hen do was organised by Kate’s younger sister Pippa and is said to have been attended by close friends, although the princess-to-be is planning on catching up with other friends over the coming weeks before the wedding.
However, it is now rumoured that Harry’s girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, is planning to hold another hen do in her native country of Africa (perhaps because she wasn’t invited to the original hen do?!) to celebrate before the big day. Yet again though, we can expect this second hen do to be kept out of the lime light!
So, there we have it – the future King and Queen of England both opt for a quiet night in with their closest companions – a world away from Peter Phillips, William’s cousin, who held an unruly stag do in April 2009 which saw him arrive by helicopter, getting rather drunk and reportedly dropping his trousers!
Whether you chose a wild, adventure packed event or a milder gathering; we can help you arrange the perfect stag do to fit your needs! Give us a call on 0845 4755 007 today to get the party started.
