1. What is the service that Playaway can offer?

We arrange all aspects of your corporate trip including transport, accommodation, daytime leisure activities, conferencing and nightlife.

Events are tailor made specifically for your group.

2. Why would my company choose Playaway?

Playaway Weekends have over 40 years of combined experience in organising all types of company trips and activities.

We offer a personal service. An experienced group organiser will be on hand as your personal advisor from start to finish ensuring that your event is a success and that you have exactly what you need.

We specialise in providing value for money. A top level of service also includes excellent hotel and activity rates by virtue of negotiated supplier agreements throughout the UK and Europe.

All our clients receive a unique password to access a secure online event itinerary featuring maps, schedules and contact details. You can also pay individually on line if required.

Years of industry experience mean that we have a massive array of weird and wonderful activity choices available and all types of accommodation to suit your group regardless of age, gender or budget.

3. What information do I need to supply you with?

All we need in the first instance are a few guidelines on approximate:

2. Group size

3. Budget

We can then send an initial proposal for you to consider and come back to us to refine further.

4. When are payments to be made?

Deposit:

A deposit is payable to confirm your booking as soon as you are satisfied with the itinerary we have discussed.
We advise that you pay your deposit as soon as possible to ensure that you get all of your first choice preferences as certain popular activities will not be available at short notice.

For online payments, the deposit will be the value of the full event for one person.

For offline payment the deposit is £10 per person.

You can pay your deposit by card, over the phone, or by cheque.
Once a deposit has been received you will receive a written confirmation of the booking and a password to access your group online payment pages (if needed).

Final Payments:
For all destinations within the UK, the final payment is due one month before the event.
For overseas destinations, the final payment is due six weeks before departure.
The date of payment will be included on the written confirmation of your booking.

5. How do I pay?

Online:
Take advantage of our unique and very handy 'My Event' payment system! (Please see Q & A 16 for more details about our online payment system)
For those groups paying online, each individual will use the group password to access the online payment account fro the event. Once logged on they can pay their share of the costs by following the simple instructions. Once they have paid it will appear on the account - making it easy to see who has and hasn't paid!

Offline:
You can collect all the money from the people attending your corporate event and pay by card over the phone or send a cheque.

6. What happens if some of my group cancel?

Playaway operate a flexible numbers policy. You can change the amount of people coming to your corporate event as often as you like, we only ask that the final payment for the full amount of people is received one month prior to departure for UK destinations or six weeks for overseas destinations.

We do however make it our aim to assist with refunds for last minute drop outs wherever possible. If we can get your money back we will.

7. Can I brand my event?

We are here to help in any way possible and will happily investigate any extra requirements you have to make your event a success.

8. What is the booking process?

Just let us know if you would like to go ahead and we will send you a written confirmation of your booking as soon as we have received a deposit.

9. How long do events last?

This depends on which event you choose!

Some of our events can last one night or some can last for a whole weekend - the choice is yours! Just ask your Playaway organiser for details of individual events and how this might work for your group.

10. What happens if we need disabled access?

We will make suitable accommodation arrangements and advise on suitable activity choices

11. How many people are we allowed?

Well the good news is there is no maximum group size so bring the whole company!

The minimum group size for a corporate event is 10 (although this can be dropped to 8 if absolutely necessary - but the cost per person can sometimes increase to cover costs)

12. Are we insured?

We are not an FSA authorised reseller of insurance. We do however recommend that you make your own insurance provision for cancellation and personal accident insurance.

All our hotel and activity providers have public liability cover and we will be glad to forward details of this on request.

13. What happens if something gets damaged?

Some hotels may ask for a security deposit on arrival to cover the cost of any damage by your group. Naturally as adults your personal conduct is your own responsibility.

14. Where can we have our event

Playaway offer a whole range of events in may different locations in the UK and abroad. Please click on the 'Locations' bar in the menu to see where we can take your company. These are just examples and we are happy to make arrangements for you wherever you would like to go.

15. Is accommodation available?

Playaway have a number of specially negotiated rates with national and regional h otel groups in order to offer your company the best value for money for your corporate event.
Unless you are advised to the contrary by your Playaway Organiser, hotel accommodation is on the following basis;

Please be advised that this type of accommodation is booked subject to availability. If any of the above cannot be fulfilled then the group leader will be informed upon booking for his/her approval.

16. How do I start the ball rolling?

Have a look around the site and decide where you would like to go and what you would like to do on your corporate event! (Feel free to give us a ring on 08454 755 007 to discuss any queries you may have.)

Call us to discuss your ideas and let us know approximately how many people will be attending your event. We can then send a written proposal

Next we would advise you to get your deposit down as soon as possible once you are happy with the itinerary as this increases your likelihood that all your chosen preferences will be available as certain options and locations can sell out quickly during peak times.

17. How do I get the money from all my colleagues?

We would advise that you collect all the money before booking the event so you do not end up forking out if someone cancels.

Alternatively you could use our handy online 'My Event' paying system!
Here's how it works:

  1. You call us and sign up for your Playaway Weekend. We tell you the cost; take your share as the deposit and give you access to the 'My Event' login group payment page.
  2. Then you simply enter the names of everyone who's coming and their share of the cost.

18. How much notice do I need to give you if I need to cancel completely?

If you should need to cancel your event, then please take note of our cancellation terms and conditions below:

19. If we are travelling away from our home town, do you provide transport?

Playaway can arrange transport for your corporate event if you would like us to. However this will cost extra so please speak to your Playaway organiser about costs and arrangements.

Often the most cost effective way of reaching activity sites is with your own vehicles - especially if you share cars and split the petrol costs!

20. Will anyone from Playaway be presence on the day of the event?

We do not usually send a representative as everything is fully arranged and confirmed well in advance. If however it is specifically required we would be happy to arrange for a member of the Playaway team to attend all or part of your itinerary.

21. Can we make our own event?

At Playaway we do our very best to make sure your corporate event is exactly what you want and specifically tailor made to meet with your requirements.
