With a couple of days until the Royal wedding, we thought we would show you some of the best, wackiest and damn right bizarre Royal wedding souvenirs we have come across...and there are some corkers out there!
Ok, so maybe not souvenirs in the sense that you will keep them for years to come (although, if you really wanted to, you could wrap them in cling film!), but amusing none-the-less:
Much loved Bristol based company, Pieminister have released a limited edition Kate & Wills pie, crammed with British beef, wine, bacon, onions, mushrooms and brandy. Yummy!
If you have more of a sweet tooth then you could always try a piece of the Royal Pear, also from Pieminister, made from poached pears, rum and Fairtrade chocolate.
London based company, Biscuiteers, who bake - you’ve guessed it - biscuits, have create a tin filled with wedding themed biscuits which includes the confectionery shaped as Union Jack flags, wedding shoes, his and hers crowns and an engagement ring! Simply divine!
You may have seen in the news recently that Kate Middleton has been spotted on a Jelly Bean and now that very bean is expected to fetch £500 on eBay. Did we also mention it is mango favoured?!
Papa Johns have also jumped on the wedding band wagon with the creation of a portrait pizza of the smiling couple.
Jack Swaysland, Papa John’s Vice President for the UK and Europe, said: “It seems like the whole country has got Royal Wedding fever, so we just had to do something special to celebrate this momentous occasion.” Well obviously!
Middleton-based brewery JW Lees has produced a special ale to mark the royal wedding called ‘Middleton’s.
Harvey’s are also celebrating the wedding with the release of a drink. ‘Royal Nuptial Ale’ is described as “an ale for honeymooners - and all romantics - wherever they may be” and the brewery cites Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Nights Dream for the inspiration behind the ale.
Planning on watching the wedding with a cuppa in hand? Yes? Well Twinings must have read your mind as they have released a commemorative blend, designed for the royal wedding and inspired by the romance and elegance of a white wedding. The tea is ‘delicately blended with a ‘bouquet’ of bergamot essence and a ‘confetti’ of rose petals’ for that refreshing brew!
Not one for a Royal wedding? Luckily for you artist Lydia Leith has created some sick bags with the happy couple on.
If you don’t fancy the standard colours of blue or red, you can always go for the Royal purple and wedding gold set. How romantic!
Crown Jewels Condoms have come up with an intriguing way of celebrating the Royal wedding: by producing condoms with the apt slogan of ‘Lie back and think of England’! Enough said really...!
How are you planning on remembering the special day? We would love to hear from you...
